In Canada they call them Muskoka chairs and many of this style can be found scattered around the gorgeous Canadian lake sides and small coastline of the region known as Muskoka. Traditionally from the East Coast of America, Adirondacks have been a popular choice since they were first designed by Thomas Lee in 1903 while holidaying in the Adirondack mountains just outside New York, hence the name of the chair.
